“Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God.” 1 Peter 3:18 (NLT)
We are all sinners. We were born into a fallen world with a sinful nature. Our sin caused us to deserve death – eternal separation from God. But God didn’t want to spend eternity without us. So he made a plan and set it into motion. He sent his Son to die on the cross, while we still lived our sinful lives, so he could pay the price for our mistakes. He lived a sinless life but died as if he was guilty. He paid the price for our lives with his life.
Prayer: God, forgive me for the sin in my life. Thank you for completing the plan to save me, so I can come safely home to you. Help me to share the good news with others. In Jesus name. Amen
