Pray for Blessing

Pray for Blessing

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NIV)

The Bible shows that it’s okay to ask for blessings, but when we ask for them, we must remember that they are not just for ourselves.  Abram was promised that he would be blessed for obeying God.  The blessings were not just for himself.  He was blessed so he could bless others.  He became the father of the nation of Israel (Jesus is part of the lineage of Abram).

When God blesses us, it is so we can be a conduit to bless others.  We can share what God gives us to help others.  As we use God’s blessings to bless others, He will continue to bless us so we can bless others.  It’s time to pray for blessing.

I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. Genesis 12:2 (NLT)

Next Steps:
Ask God to show you what blessings you already have so that you can share them with others.  Ask Him to open your eyes to someone today that you can bless.
