Pray for Protection

Pray for Protection

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NIV)

Sometimes we forget we are at war.  While we do not fight with people, we fight an enemy that we cannot see.  He comes at each of us through everyday circumstances.  He may attempt to influence our thoughts to stir up anger at someone or send temptations to try and ensnare us.  The good news is that we are not alone in our battle.  God has provided us with His armor (Ephesians 6:10-18) to protect us when we go into battle.  We can ask God to stay with us wherever we go.  It’s time to pray for protection.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)

Next Steps:
Spend time today asking God for His protection in your life.  Ask for His protection over yourself, your family and friends.  Think of other areas of your life where you want God’s protection and pray to God for those areas.
