Have you ever loaned something you valued to a friend? You trusted that they would take good care of it. You expected that they would treat it as if it was their own and return it undamaged. You hoped it would be returned in the same condition or better than when you loaned it to them.
Our bodies are not our own. Our bodies belong to God (Jesus paid the price for us with His life). We need to take proper care of them since they are owned by God. We need to honor Him in our words and deeds. There is a sacred trust between us and God regarding our bodies. We need to do our part to honor God.
Prayer: God, thank you for the reminder that my body is not my own. I want to honor you in my words and deeds. Show me the areas where I need to improve. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
