People are trapped by their fear of others; those who trust the Lord are secure. Proverbs 29:25 (CEB)
It is easy to fall into the trap of the fear of others. We can be afraid of speaking in public because we are concerned of making a mistake in front of others. We can be afraid to try something because we are worried others will see us fail. We can be afraid of being rejected by others. Each of these fears keep us trapped from being our best. When we put our trust in God, we can put aside worrying about what others think. Our focus can be on the way God views us instead of trying to please people. We can be confident and secure in God’s love for us and always wanting the best for us, even when we don’t understand or see how it could all turn out.
Prayer:
God, thank you for reminding me of how much you love me. Show me the areas where I am afraid of others. Help me to trust in you and remain secure in your love for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
