Strategies for Living the Life You Were Meant to Live

Strategies for Living the Life You Were Meant to Live

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:16 (KJV)

Consider the results that culture is getting in marriage and finances.  Christians who adapt to the world view will get the same.  But that’s not what God wants for His people.

As Christians, we need to develop a different view.  We need a view that aligns with God’s view for His people to live the best life He planned for us.

There Are Four Views:

God’s View:

1 – Living according to God’s Word, to live out God’s best plan for your life.

World View:

2 – Hedonism:  Pleasure is the most important value, do what feels good.

3 – Possessions:  Things/Stuff is most important. Increase and get all you can.

4 – Narcissism: “I’m all that matters.”  Pride and self-promotion.

The world views are determined by the desire of the flesh, desire of the eyes, and pride of life.

Satan has been using “desire” against humanity since Genesis 3 when Satan met Adam and Eve in the garden.  Satan used fruit to tempt:  “It’s good food; pleasing to the eye; and eating it will make you like God.”

Even Jesus was tempted by the devil using these desire tactics after Jesus fasted 40 days and was about to begin His ministry.

The world’s temptations drive humans.  Most Christians don’t think anything about it.  We just slip into the culture.

This week’s devotions are going to give you information and tools on how to arm yourself to take God’s view to live the life you were meant to live.

PRAY:  Dear God – Please open my eyes and heart to develop Your view in my life.  God, You created each person, including me, with a plan and purpose.  Help me to accomplish Your will and to live the life I was meant to be living Your way.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
