They Don’t Belong to This World

They Don’t Belong to This World

Father, I don’t ask you to take my followers out of the world, but keep them safe from the evil one. They don’t belong to this world, and neither do I. Your word is the truth. So let this truth make them completely yours. I am sending them into the world, just as you sent me. John 17:15-18 (CEV)

We live in a broken world. It is not what God originally intended the world to be like. The world was meant to be perfect. Instead, the world and all the people that live in it are tainted by sin. We are all made in the likeness and image of God. Once we accept Christ as our savior, God begins to help us show the world around us what He looks like. We begin to show His love to the lost and hurting world. We demonstrate His compassion to those who are hurting. We show those around us we don’t belong to this world, just like the one who sent us.

Prayer:
God, thank you for reminding me that I don’t belong to this world. Help me to show the world around me your love and compassion. Send someone across my path today that needs to know your love for them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
