They Will Listen

They Will Listen

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.  Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’  If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.”  John 15:18, 20 (NIV)

As a Christian, you can expect that you will receive persecution for your beliefs.  The people in your family may question why you believe in God.  Your friends may question why you go to church.  A neighbor may question why you read the bible.  Although you will receive persecution, the bible tells us that they will obey (listen and do) what you tell them about Christ.  Sometimes, based on this persecution, we are apprehensive about sharing the Gospel with others or sharing our story about how Christ transformed our life.  But the Bible is clear that if people obeyed the teaching from Jesus, they will obey your teaching about Him.  Don’t let fear stop you from sharing Jesus with someone else.  Lastly, don’t get discouraged if it appears that they don’t want to hear your message.  The message you share could be a seed planted that puts them on the path to discovering Christ in later months or years.

Question:  Who can you share the message of Christ with today?  (Think about your family and friends)
