Time to Plant

Time to Plant

“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give. Don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves the person who gives cheerfully. Then God will generously provide all you need, and you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others . . . For God is the one who gives seed to the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will give you many opportunities to do good, and he will produce a great harvest of generosity in you! Yes, you will be enriched SO THAT you can give even more generously!…” 2 Corinthians 9:6-13 (NLT)

We all plant seeds on a daily basis.  Our seeds can be the words we speak – those of faith or fear.  They can be the actions we perform – showing love to others or hurting others. Our seed can also be financial gifts – sowing (giving) into a good cause rather than being wasteful with our resources.  Whichever type of seed we sow, we will reap it back.  We need to be wise about the seeds we are planting each day.

We can also choose to plant generously or sparingly.  God encourages us to sow generously.  He knows the laws of sowing and reaping.  He knows that the more we do to show love to others, the more that love will flow into our lives.

What kind of seeds are you sowing?
Are you a generous sower or do you sow sparingly?
Where can you sow more seeds?
