Time to Train

Time to Train

You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally. I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No sloppy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself. I Corinthians 9:24-27 (MSG)

We are all participating in a marathon. We need to fulfill the purpose God has for us and hand off God’s work to the next generation. To accomplish this, each of us needs to run our race well. We need to listen to God’s leading and allow Him to train us in what we need to do. There may be habits we need to start and others we need to end. What changes do you need to make to get your training underway?

Prayer:
God, thank you for being my life coach. You know me better than anyone else. Show me the new habits I need to form and the old habits I need to break. Fill my life with your grace to accomplish these changes. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
