Transformed in My Emotional Health (Day 27)

Put your heart right…Reach out to God… face the world again, firm and courageous. Then all your troubles will fade from your memory, like floods that are past and remembered no more. Job 11:13-16 (GNT)

Many of us have faced an emotionally devastating situation.  It could have been the death of a loved one, the breakup of a significant relationship, or the betrayal from someone in our lives.  Each event will have a varying impact on our emotions.  There are also times when something happens that knocks us off of our feet for a period of time.  These feelings are completely normal and part of life.

Eventually, there comes a time when we need to face the world again.  We may not feel completely healed from the event or the affects may not be completely gone, but it is time to move forward.  God tells us to put our hearts right, reach out to Him and face the world again.  As we choose to face the future and let go of the hurt, our troubles will fade from our memory.  They will be in the past and remembered no more.

As we heal from the wounds of the past, we will realize we can think about them and talk about them without reliving the pain we experienced from them.  There may be times we feel reminded of the past, but the pain will come and go more easily than when the situation first happened.  Eventually, the pain of the past will be remembered no more.
