Transformed in My Mental Health (Day 19)

“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends…” John 15:13 (KJV)

If you work for a company as a laborer, your job is to make the company look good. If you work for an organization, your job is to make the organization look good. If you work directly for the CEO of a company, your job is to make the CEO look good. As believers, our job is to make our Savior look good. But you may be thinking that this is impossible. And you know what? You would be correct! The Bible is distinctly clear in letting us know just how far “off” perfect every one of us is (Romans 3:23). As a matter of fact, when you read the word “perfect” in the Bible, 99 out of 100 times it means mature, not flawless. So, how do we become that “only Bible” (or representation of Christ) to others?

As quoted earlier in the week, John 3:16 sums up the totality of God’s love in just a few words: God so loved the world – that He gave His only begotten son. Why? The answer is both simple and profoundly not understandable – because He loves us.

The very least we can do as children of God is to show love to others. Not “die” for them – that wouldn’t do any good because we’re not sinless. But to show concern, care, prayer … love for others. We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).
