What You Need Most

Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm. At this the men greatly feared the Lord, and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows to him. Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Jonah 1:15-17 (NIV)

We find it easy to make our own plans in life. We expect things to work out just as we planned. Making plans is even encouraged in the Bible. However, we need to remember that God’s plans may not work out the way we expect. He knows what we need and when we need it. He may send things into our lives that will nudge us in the direction He wants us to go. He can send the still, small voice to let us know the next step we need to take. We can cross paths with someone who can speak to us about a change we need to make. God has a way of sending what you need most at just the right time.

Prayer:
God, thank you that you can see my whole life and how it fits within your bigger plan. Thank you that you are always right on time and never late. I choose to remain open to your plan for my life, even if it is different from the plans I made for myself. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
