Each of us have people or things that we carry close to our hearts. As an example, parents hold a special place for their children. An item we own can bring back memories of a lost loved one or certain event that brings us joy to remember. While enjoying these is not wrong, these treasures will not last into eternity.
God encourages us to store up treasures in heaven. He encourages us to make our time on earth impact eternity. As we focus on God and the plans He has for us, we will begin to store our treasure where they cannot be destroyed. Our hearts will then follow our treasure. Spend time today asking God where your treasure is. Ask Him if there is something you need to do to put Him first.
