Who Are You Walking With?

Who Are You Walking With?

Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20 (NIV)

Often parents are concerned about the influences on their children.  They try to shield them from television programs, movies and other things they are concerned may be a bad influence.  They want to know where their children are going and who they are going with in order to protect them.  They want to shield their children from people and things that may lead them astray.  Parents know that other children who are a good influence will build their children up, while bad companions can tear them down.  This principle applies to adults also.  We need to be mindful of the influences in our lives, but we also need to be wise companions for those in our lives.

Prayer: God, thank you for the reminder to be mindful of the influences in my life.  Show me the areas I need to clean up and clean out.  Help me to be a wise friend and companion for the others in my life.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
