And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 (NLT)
Sometimes life is hard. Things just don’t turn out the way you expect them to. The plans you had for your future don’t turn out the way you thought they would. You get laid off from your job. A loved one becomes sick. The grief over a loss in life takes a toll on a family member. You are waiting for God to tell you your next step. All of these things can seem difficult to go through, but God promises they will all work together for our good. We may not understand what the purpose of these situations may be as we are going through them, but we can know that God is working things out on our behalf. God takes our brokenness and creates a masterpiece.
Prayer:
God, thank you that you work everything together for my good. While I may not understand how, I can rest in your promise that you are doing just that. Help me to focus on your promise instead of my problems. Thank you that I have a purpose in your master plan and you are working in me to accomplish your plan for my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
