Our world is full of difficulties and strife. All you have to do is turn on the TV or check a news feed to see that there is not peace on Earth. Yet Christians are given an amazing gift in the midst of a difficult world – the peace of God.
Jesus told us, “I am leaving you with a gift; peace of mind and heart…so don’t be troubled or afraid.” There’s so much more to life than just what we can see. The peace of God can infuse our life and bring us peace, yes, and also bring peace to those around us. Let us find our peace, not in the world, but in the promises and gift of God.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray for a heart open to your gift of peace. Sometimes I search for peace in this world, but help me to accept your perfect peace and not the temporary, imperfect peace offered by the things of this world. I pray for peace on Earth, but above all that your will be done. Amen.
