Ambassadors

Ambassadors

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him… So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 2 Corinthians 5:17-18, 20 (NLT)

We are ambassadors of the kingdom of God. This world is not our home (Hebrews 13:14). While we are here, we need to represent God’s kingdom principles to everyone we meet. We may not always share about the salvation available through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, but we can always demonstrate the love of God to everyone we meet. We can live a life that represents God well. We can show the world what it means to be a follower of Christ. We can be an example of what it means to be from the kingdom of God. Our example could be the only evidence of Jesus they see today.

Prayer: God, thank you for reminding me that I am an ambassador of your kingdom. Help me to represent you well throughout the day. Remind me to show your love to everyone I meet. In Jesus name. Amen.
