If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord…” Proverbs 19:17 (NLT)
Many of us have allowed someone to borrow money in the past. In some cases they were able to pay us back, but in other cases they were not. There are times when their ability to repay us influences our decision to lend to them or not. Other times we choose to lend to them anyway.
There is one who will always have enough to repay those who have loaned to him. God has more than enough to pay back anything that was loaned to Him. He wants us to have the faith to help the poor, and when we do, it’s like helping the Lord directly. He will be sure to pay us back in ways we could never imagine. Be a lender by helping those in need.
Prayer:
God, thank you that you have blessed me so I am able to help others. Show me today the person you want me to help. I want to make a difference in the world around me that impacts eternity. Open my eyes to see those around me in need. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
