The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18 (NLT)
Have you ever been overwhelmed by grief or disappointment? You didn’t know how you were going to get through the situation. It could come from the loss of a family member or not getting the promotion you worked so hard for. Those situations can leave you brokenhearted.
God promises to be close to the brokenhearted. He loves us enough to be with us during our brokenness. Sometimes He uses us to be close to the brokenhearted. Since we have been there, we know how to get through to the other side. We know that God will get to the root of our brokenness and bring comfort and healing. He can then use us and our experiences to help others get through their brokenness.
Prayer:
God, thank you for bringing me through the times of brokenness in my life. Use me to help others get through their struggles. Open my eyes to see those in need around me. In Jesus’ name. Amen
