The word “devote” is defined in the dictionary meaning to imply compelling motives and often attachment to an objective. God reminds us that we need to be devoted to loving others. We need to spend time learning about how to love others. It comes naturally to love others the way we feel loved, but we need to love others in a way that they can feel loved. We should be committed to getting to know others in our relationships, extending love to them daily.
Prayer:
God, thank you for reminding me to devote myself to loving others. Help me to learn how to love others the way they need to feel loved. Show me someone I can practice loving today as an act of obedience to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
