Bring Your Burdens to Jesus

Bring Your Burdens to Jesus

If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 (CEV)

Do you have heavy burdens in your life?  Jesus gives clear directions of what to do if there are problems in your life weighing you down.  But before we get to that point, notice that this verse begins with the word “If.”  It says, “If you are tired.”  You must get to the point that you are tired of carrying this heavy weight.  You must decide whose hands will be on the problem.  Are you going to try to fix it (which hasn’t worked) or are you going to allow Jesus (who has all power) to fix it on your behalf?  Jesus has the best solution to help with the issues in your life.

So, what’s the answer?  Jesus tells us to bring our burdens to Him.  Give Him all of your problems.  Give Him that very thing that causes you stress and anxiety.  Think of it this way – if you couldn’t solve it by yourself up to this point, why do you keep holding on to it?  Next, Jesus tells us to take His yoke (by obeying Him) or do what He is telling you to do in the Word (Bible).  So, when you have a problem, bring the issue to Jesus then do what He’s telling you to do in that area of your life.  This plan will always cause you to have peace in your life.  Give Jesus your burdens today!

Prayer:
Lord, I give you [enter your burden here].  I’ve stressed over this problem.  I’ve tried to fix this problem on my own and I just can’t do it.  Take this problem and solve it for me.  I will do whatever you tell me to do in the process.  I now thank you in advance for answering my prayers.  In Jesus name, Amen.
