Everyone Is Important to God

Everyone Is Important to God

Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 1 Corinthians 12:15-18 (NIV)

You are important to God.  The example used in the verse above is that of a body.  God doesn’t view the heart as more important than the thumb.  He views every part, regardless of its function, as being important.  The Bible tells us that He placed all of the parts in the body exactly as He wanted.  So, why is this important?

You matter to God in a way that you may not have imagined.  He loves and cares for you.  He loves you so much that He sent the best that He had, His Son, to die for you.  He made you unique and gave you a specific purpose here on earth.  If you are going through a rough time, remember that you are important to God.  Look at it from this perspective.  Imagine that you were transporting something of great importance and significance due to how it was designed.  You would be attentive to it.  You would make sure that nothing happened to it.  You would check on it frequently to make sure it was safe.  When you are going through difficult times it’s crucial for you to remember that, because you are important, God is attentive to you!  He hears your prayers and understands your pain.  He will be with you and never leave you.  If you feel forgotten, lost or like you don’t matter, remember that you are important to God.
