Can’t Add a Moment

Can’t Add a Moment

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:26-27 (NIV)

Springtime brings the sound of birds in the air. They can be seen enjoying the bird food that bird lovers put out for them. They find food on their own as it is in their nature to do so. But do you think they are worrying at night where their next meal is coming from? No.  They are focused on their nest and storing up food for the winter. God takes care of their needs. He knows their needs and He meets them.

You are more valuable than the birds flying outside of your windows. God knows what you need and has a plan of how to meet your need. He knew what you would need before you even asked him (Matthew 6:8). You don’t have to worry about things – God can take care of it. Before we knew we needed a Savior, God provided one through Jesus on the cross. Before we knew we needed salvation, He made a way for us to reconcile with Him. You can stop worrying. God is in control. All your worrying can’t add a moment to your life, but you can waste a moment of your life worrying.

Prayer:
God, thank you for reminding me to stop worrying. Thank you for reminding me that you took care of my needs before I knew I had them. Show me what I need to do today and help me put my trust in you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
