Choose Your Battles

Choose Your Battles

Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone… patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. 2 Timothy 2:23-25 (NLT)

It is easy to enter into arguments today. Many topics arise that would be easy to cause offense. As a parent, we can argue over the smallest detail. We can be hurt by a friend’s comment we misinterpret. An article on social media can raise our tempers.

God wants us to stay out of foolish arguments. He calls us to be set apart. He calls us to be kind to everyone so their hearts will be changed. We can win the world over because our actions are different. Our love for one another sets us apart from the rest of the world. By choosing our battles, we can change the world.

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:35 (NIV)
