Acceptance

Acceptance

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. Romans 15:7 (NIV)

Acceptance is defined as being received as adequate or suitable, such as being admitted into a group. You have something in common, but don’t always agree on everything. Just because you disagree with another member, does not remove their acceptance to the group.

We are encouraged to accept others just as Christ accepted us. The value of others is defined by their acceptance by God, not by what we think about them. We may have differences in our opinions, but that does not devalue them or us. Our differences are God’s doing (God created us all different) and when we welcome others it brings glory to God.

Welcome the person who is weak in faith—but not in order to argue about differences of opinion. Romans 14:1 (CEB)
