Strength Under Control

Strength Under Control

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5 (NIV)

Imagine a wild stallion running through a field. The stallion is full of strength and power. When it feels threatened it can become aggressive to protect itself and the rest of the herd. Once tamed, the stallion still has the same strength and power as before. It just follows the directions of the handler.

God promises us blessings if we allow Him to become our handler. We are encouraged to keep our strength under control. Our strength is not removed from us, but God lovingly teaches us how to live a better way. He shows us when to use our strength and when to use self-control. In the end, our strength under control will bring us blessings and glory to God.
