Chosen

Chosen

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. John 15:16 (NIV)

Many of us have witnessed a sports team choosing players. Usually, the one believed to have the most skills is picked first. Eventually, everyone is chosen but the players know where they were in the process. Sometimes it can eat at the individual’s self-esteem. But we must remember that we were chosen by God. The Creator of the universe chose us. Not only did He choose us, but He did it so we could do something for Him. Each of us have been chosen for a unique purpose. The fruit we were created to produce is meant to last. We are chosen.

Prayer:
God, thank you for choosing me. Help me to remember daily that I am chosen by you. Show me where I can produce lasting fruit today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
