“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:23-24 (NIV)
We were created for relationship. God wants us to be reconciled in our relationship with him and with others. He placed such an importance on our relationships with others that he told us to leave our worship and work out the issues that others have with us. God wants us to proactively seek out others who have a problem with our relationship, even if we are not at fault, and do what it takes to resolve it. Once we work out the problem, we can go back to our worship.
Prayer: God, I know I am created for relationship. Show me anyone in my life that has something against me. Give me the words to use to reconcile our relationship. Help me to do everything in my power to live at peace with them. In Jesus name. Amen.
