It is easy to think that we have to pray a certain way. We may think God only hears us if we say the right words. But God hears us when we pray. We don’t have to know the right words. Abraham spoke to God as he spoke to a friend (James 2:23). We can speak to God the same way. We can talk to him the same way we talk to those around us. We can devote ourselves to communicating with God about everything throughout the day.
Prayer: God, thank you that you listen to my prayers. Thank you that I don’t have to use special words to talk to you but can pray as if speaking to a friend. I want to be called a friend of God. In Jesus name. Amen.
