“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NIV)
The early church in the book of Acts were not trained in seminaries. They weren’t pastors. They didn’t even have Bibles. They were sent to be witnesses. A witness is someone who can give evidence to something that happened. They could give a testimony about a situation or event. Like the early church, we are all able to be witnesses to the love of God. We can share the testimony of our personal story. Each of us has been touched in a personal way by God. We can share that with others. It is our turn to share the love of God to the hurting world around us.
Prayer: God, thank you for sharing your love with us. I want to be a witness for you in the world around me. Send someone across my path today that I can share with. Give me the boldness to be a witness for you. In Jesus name. Amen.
