Let’s be honest. You may understand the fact that God can forgive, but have you ever felt that He wouldn’t forgive you? Let’s take it a step further. Have you ever asked God for forgiveness (and were expecting a magical transformation) but still felt guilty about what you did? Forgiveness is a 2-step process…you ask, then release.
Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 GNT)
Asking God for forgiveness then taking back the guilt and shame, is like going to the dry cleaners and paying your money, but you immediately take your dirty clothes back home. Doesn’t make sense does it? When you ask God for forgiveness, leave your worry, guilt, and shame with Him! Don’t take it back after you’re done praying. Literally talk to God and tell Him that you are giving Him your guilt and you don’t want it back. When you ask for forgiveness, He will always forgive you and turn the page in your life. So, a new chapter has begun. Start walking in the freedom, peace and joy that only Christ can bring. If you don’t know Christ but want that same freedom, click here.
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1 NLT)
