Don’t Look Back

Don’t Look Back

Jesus said, “Anyone who begins to plow a field but keeps looking back is of no use in the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 (NCV)

Our focus in life should be on Christ and fulfilling the mission that He set before us.  We are striving and pressing forward to get to the finish line.  If you were running in a race, what value would there be in constantly looking back?  Looking backward as you are trying to run forward will only slow you down.

Think about your life for a moment.  There may have been challenging things that have happened to you in your past – some of which could have been completely out of your control.  It’s great to learn from your experiences, but replaying those things over and over again in your mind won’t help you reach the finish line.  It will actually slow you down because your focus is behind you instead of on the goal.  Make the decision in 2017 to keep your focus on Christ and what’s ahead of you.
