Winter in Michigan brings a season of grey clouds. The sun rarely shines. Plants and trees are either covered in a blanket of snow or look almost dead as they lay dormant waiting for spring. But when the beginning of spring starts to appear, everything changes. The sun is shining and birds are singing. Flowers and trees are beginning to bloom. There is new life everywhere you look.
Sin can have the same effect. We stop growing. The sun can’t reach us through the cloud of sin and shame we feel. We don’t feel like we deserve forgiveness. But God has a different plan. He sent his son Jesus to make a way for us to enter a season of growth and new life. God wants us to live a life free from the black cloud of sin and death.
