The Pressure Is Gone

The Pressure Is Gone

Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Psalm 32:5 (NLT)

Many of us have suffered from guilt in the past. A statement was made that hurt someone’s feelings. A secret was kept that, if found out, could cause damage to a relationship. A mistake was made that we knew we should come clean about, but didn’t want to admit our failure. Keeping guilt inside can feel like we are being eaten up inside.

Those of us know when we finally admitted our mistake and asked for the person’s forgiveness, the feeling of guilt was immediately gone. The pressure we felt disappeared in an instant. Speaking the truth and letting the secret sin out allows God to clean us up. God is waiting for us to confess our sins so He can help us work through the consequences of our mistakes, instead of feeling the weight of our guilt.

I, the Lord, invite you to come and talk it over. Your sins are scarlet red, but they will be whiter than snow or wool. Isaiah 1:18 (CEV)
