“…God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:11-13 NKJV
Jesus came that we could have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The abundant life is not just here on earth, but it is meant to last through eternity. By accepting the Son into our lives, we gain life. Without the Son we are missing out on all God has planned for our lives here on earth. However, we don’t just miss out on the abundance on earth but also living with God through all of eternity.
Life on earth is just the first part of God’s eternal plan. He has created a place in heaven for us to live with him for all of eternity. We can enjoy living in his presence forever. What a way to spend our eternal life!
Prayer: God, thank you for allowing me to have the Son in my life. Help me to share your love with others in a way that draws them into a relationship with you. Give me the courage to share the good news. In Jesus name. Amen.
