“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)
Here is a simple thought for the day. There is a link between God’s blessings/favor and obedience (doing what God tells us to do). The verse above tells us that they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching (which was based on what Jesus himself taught the apostles). Are you casually following God or are you devoted to God? Are you devoted to doing what He says even when it may not be something that you want to do (like forgiving someone, apologizing to someone, etc.)? There is a link between God’s blessings and obedience. Think about this question and determine what you will do differently based on what you read.
