There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 (NLT)
Just as God created us to fit together perfectly, He also gave us each unique and special gifts. These gifts weren’t just made for us, but for the benefit of the whole body of Christ. Although we all may have many different spiritual gifts, God is the source of all of them.
You may have a difficult time understanding what your spiritual gifts are and how God may want you to use them. It’s important to seek the Lord for guidance, but to also ask yourself some questions to help you understand your spiritual gifts and how you could use them to serve the church. A helpful way to think of how your spiritual gifts fit into the body of Christ is to think of your S.H.A.P.E. Spiritual Gifts: What am I gifted to do? Heart: What do I love to do? Abilities: What natural abilities do I have? Personality: Where does my personality best suit me to serve? Experience: What experiences have I had? Taking time to answer these questions will get you on the path to discovering your gifts and how to use them to best serve the body of Christ.
