Made to Serve

Made to Serve

This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:25-27 (NLT)

The Church is the body of Christ (those who have accepted Christ make up the body and Christ is the head of that body). As a body, each part has its own function, purpose and value. Each person is needed to truly be a functioning, thriving and growing body. To be able to do this each of us has to be willing to fully serve one another.

Whether we realize it or not, each of us has specific gifts that the rest of the church needs. The more we share and use our gifts, the stronger the body of Christ (the Church) will become. Just as others need your gifts, you need the gifts of others. We must be willing to look beyond ourselves and serve each other unselfishly with the gifts God has given us!
