Paul said: “I’m not trying to be a people pleaser! No, I am trying to please God. If I were still trying to please people, I would not be Christ’s servant.” Galatians 1:10 (NLT)
The Bible reminds us that we cannot serve two masters. You will be devoted to one and not the other (Matthew 6:24). We can either focus on pleasing God or pleasing others. There may be times God tells us to do things that other people may not understand. His direction may be a test of your faith in a certain area. If you are worried about what others will think of your next steps and gaining their approval, you may miss out on what God has for you. When you focus on God’s approval, everything will work out in the end.
Prayer:
God, thank you for the plans you have for my life. Thanks for the reminder to seek your approval instead of the approval of others. Show me the next steps I need to take. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
