Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. When the Holy Spirit empowers us when we are born again, that empowerment can be used to share the Good News of Christ boldly, to live a holy life, and to make a difference with our spiritual gifts. When we turn our back on sinful things, we are better able to focus on these new abilities brought by the Spirit. God grants us spiritual gifts that give each of us unique ways to help others. These gifts can allow us to speak boldly about God and His power in our lives, and live a holy life that glorifies God as well as showing an example to others of how God works in the world.
