May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NIV)
Being a mom can be filled with joy, disappointment, happiness, and even discouragement. There are a variety of expectations placed on you and sometimes the pressure to meet the needs of everyone else in the family can be stressful. But there’s hope! God the Father isn’t just the God who can bring hope – He literally is hope! On the days that you feel frustrated or unappreciated, you can put your trust in Him. God wants to fill you with His peace and joy so that you overflow with hope. Notice, God doesn’t simply want you to have hope in the various situations of your life, but He wants you to overflow with hope (which means you have some left over to encourage someone else). So, be encouraged by the fact that there is hope for your life, hope for you children, hope for your family, and hope for you as a mom. God is with you and will never leave you.
God, I thank you that there is hope for what I’m going through as a mom. Help me to never give up and remind me to put my trust in you. Thank you for the joy and peace in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
