Intentional Generosity

Intentional Generosity

Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop… God loves people who love to give… God can bless you with everything you need, and you will always have more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others… For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous… Excerpts: 2 Corinthians 9:6-11 (NLT/CEV)

Generosity will always benefit those who receive it (and the person who gives will be blessed), but we can be even more effective with our giving when we are intentional about it. A farmer will always give much thought to planning their crops in order to grow a large harvest, so too should we consider how to best invest our generosity. The Lord will ensure that there is enough to be shared and He does not ask us to do more than He has already done Himself through giving us His own son. What God has given us in love, we should also share with others.

Consider where you can be generous is your life and how you would like to share those extra blessings. How can you be intentional with your giving? What plans can you make to make the impact even greater?
