We Are Designed to Make a Difference

We Are Designed to Make a Difference

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)

God made us with a purpose. We are designed to make a difference in the world around us. We have all been given different opportunities to make that difference and to fulfill the command of treating our neighbor as well as we treat ourselves. The key to this is living a generous life! We have been given a combination of time to work toward change, the skills to make it, and the finances to help accomplish it. While not every area is equal for everyone, each person has the ability to work toward making a difference in the lives of those around them with a combination of these areas. When we give of these blessings in our lives, we are truly being as generous with our neighbor as we are to ourselves.

Pray: Lord, thank you for the blessings in my life. Help me to see where I have an abundance to share with others and to find good ways to share it. Let me not fear that I am giving up things in my life, but that sharing is a way to find even greater enrichment. Allow me to find the difference I am called to make and to use my blessings to make it happen. Amen.
