Worship Is What I Do with My Life

Worship Is What I Do with My Life

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1 (NIV)

As followers of Christ, worship is a central part of our life. We focus on God, what He has taught us in scripture (the Bible), what He calls us to do, and how to be obedient to Him. We thank Him for the blessings in our lives and worship Him for all that He has done and will do. But how are we to worship Him? The Apostle Paul teaches that we are to be a living sacrifice to God, and that our lives should be lived in way that shows our faith through our actions. We should live in a way that is holy and pleasing to God. The greatest commandments given are to first love the Lord with all of our might and the second is to love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). We can fulfill this by living a generous life where we give of ourselves freely with the extra blessings in our lives.

Consider in what ways you live as a living sacrifice to God. How do you worship beyond a church service? What parts of your life reflect faithful generosity? Think about how you add to, change, or redirect some of your actions to live in a way that shows your faith through your actions.
