Invite Anyone

Invite Anyone

The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. Luke 14:21-23 (NLT)

We often judge people (intentionally or unintentionally) by their outward appearance. We see the flaws in how they look or at their financial deficiencies. We may compare ourselves and appreciate how we are better off. But what we often forget is that we all miss the mark when we compare ourselves to God’s standards. We are all born with a sin nature.

Thankfully, God loves us in our fallen state. He offers an invitation for us to come to Him in our current state. When we fell short, He paid the price for us to have an eternal relationship with Him. Because God invited us when we were still fallen, we can invite anyone we meet.

Prayer:
God, thank you for loving me in my fallen state. Thank you for reminding me to invite others to have a relationship with you. Send someone across my path for me to share your love with. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
