Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:23-24 (NIV)
Relationships are important to God. They are so important that He tells us to temporarily leave our place of worship in His presence to repair a broken relationship, and then return later after we have reconciled with them. We are to fix the situation even when it is not our fault. We are encouraged to take the first step to resolve the problems between us and them. Who do you need to reconcile with? Leave your gift and be reconciled.
Prayer:
God, thank you for reconciling yourself to me. Show me who I need to reconcile with. Give me the words to speak and the courage to approach them to heal the wounds between us. Bring healing to the relationship so I can bring glory to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
