Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)
At first glance, the verse above may seem peculiar. The Bible tells us to put on the full armor of God. It then goes on in later verses (verses 14 – 16) to talk about specific pieces of armor such as the belt of truth, shield of faith, etc. What’s interesting about this verse is that it tells us to put on the whole armor of God….so we can stand! It doesn’t tell us to put on the whole armor of God so we can fight. What this verse is relaying to us is that we should always be ready, and we should always put our trust in God. God will fight our battles, we simply need to rely on Him and use the tools He gave us to achieve victory over the battles in our life. Think about this verse and how you can apply it to your life.
