In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5 (NIV)
The verse above tells us that in Jesus was life, and that life was the light of mankind. It then goes on to tell us that the light shines in the darkness. Maybe you are at a place where you feel like there is no hope. You could feel frustrated or angry that things haven’t operated according to your plans. It’s refreshing to know that the light from Jesus shines in the darkness. It doesn’t matter what you are going through or how dark things appear. There is hope even when you feel hopeless. Reflect on what you just read and thank God for sending Jesus to be the light for all mankind.
