Jesus came so we could live an abundant life (John 10:10). He came to show us our purpose. He came to show us what it looks like to share God’s love with the world around us. He came to show us how to live life full of passion. God calls us to throw away our lives for His sake. That may sound harsh, but Jesus is encouraging us to exchange our way of living (our plans, our desires, how we think, act, etc.) with His way of living as outlined in the Bible. When we do this, we will live up to our full potential and learn what it’s like to really live. We will learn that God’s plans for our lives are bigger than we could have dreamed about on our own. It’s time to really live!
Prayer:
God, thank you for reminding me that Jesus came because you want me to have an abundant life. I choose to throw away my life for your sake. Help me to really live. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
